    Artist Statement

My love of the natural world started as a kid, catching bugs in the garden and playing in the tide pools where I grew up in the Puget Sound of Washington. This love is now in full swing living in Hawaii and glass has given me an outlet for my passion.

In 1996 on the island of Maui I was introduced to lampworking. Instantly it had me hooked. Brilliant colors, playing with fire! I began working full time for a retail shop in a small tourist town where I honed my skills. Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to give demonstrations overseas meet, work with and teach other amazing artists. I create my borosilicate sculpture for private collections and many local galleries.

Glass presents a challenge that I thoroughly enjoy. It never seems to work the same twice. Each piece is a puzzle that takes time, energy and skill to find the answer too.
